That’s great. Here is a little guidance on what to expect from applying at dreipol and our «Speed Dating» procedure.

Currently, 40 people are employed at dreipol. We aren’t a small start-up anymore, but we aren’t a big company either. Sure thing is though: We do have a wonderful HR team but no specialized recruiters or external headhunters taking care of our recruiting.

As elaborated and smart they may be, classical HR practices only work for us to some extent. We have found a tailored way to get to know the right people.

The dreipol way of recruiting consists of three rounds, and each of them serves a clearly defined purpose. The first two rounds will sound familiar to most of you, so I will keep it short. The third round is the icing on the cake. It forms the most intense and at the same time exciting part.

The entire process aims to find the perfect match — both ways. After all, it is not only you who is applying to dreipol but also us applying to you.

Round 1 — «Let’s connect»

Round 1 helps to clarify if you possess the required skills and the professional background to fill our vacancy. To make it through the initial selection of all incoming applications, we advise you to add a short motivational letter as well as a portfolio to your CV. No matter if you apply for a job in communications, project management, design, or development.

Whenever we expect a lot of applications, you might have to fill in an online survey as well. You answer a couple of vacancy-related questions and explain in detail why you think you would be a good fit.

Your answers are read and elaborated by your potential supervisor and a future colleague. This is to base the decision about the most promising profiles on more than one opinion.

What matters:

  • Portfolio
  • CV and motivational letter
  • Enough of your time to answer the online questionnaire

Round 2 — «Let’s talk»

Knowing all about your professional background and your skills, the second round serves to get to know you on a more personal level. The interview is led by your potential supervisor and doesn’t take more than one hour. Normally, three to six applicants receive a personal invitation.

This second interview is all about you as a person and your characteristics, and not so much about your past professional experiences.

Round 3 — «Let’s date»

As already pointed out, it’s not only you who is applying to dreipol but also dreipol applying to you. To find the perfect match, we established the «Speed Dating» procedure.

Usually, we invite two to four applicants to this special way of getting to know each other in a professional context. The interviews are being conducted by three to four selected dreipol team members, who will also decide later on who to hire (we call them hiring committee).

Each interview lasts for 20 minutes. Before the interviews, the committee defines who is going to ask which questions to avoid unnecessary duplication.

Yes, of course, the procedure is time-consuming. But let’s be honest:

  • It’s less about recruiting and more about getting to know each other
  • You get to know your teammates first hand
  • You meet more than one person from your future workplace
  • We base our decision on more than one opinion
  • It’s really fun, too

We are convinced, this way of recruiting is beneficial for you and for us. We both get a good glimpse of who we are dealing with and what to expect from our future collaboration.

Happily ever after

After the «Speed Dating», the hiring committee gathers to come to a mutual agreement. If we think you are our perfect match, we will let you know asap –hoping you feel the same way.

We will then invite you over to discuss the details, e.g. the start of work, your wage, and if you intend to work full-time or part-time. You will have enough time to think everything through, make adjustments or suggestions, and eventually sign the contract.
